Logistics Management’s editorial staff unveiled the results of the “41st Annual Quest for Quality Awards” where Trailer Bridge was named a top ocean carrier.
The Quest for Quality award program is the only one of its kind in the transportation and logistics industry using reader ratings of carriers, third-party logistics service providers, and U.S. port operators to determine winners.
Trailer Bridge took the top spot in the Ocean Carrier category with a weighted score of 53.35 and ranked as a top leader in two* attribute categories.
For the ocean carrier category, readers rated carriers on the following:

- Value
- Information Technology*
- Customer Service
- Equipment & Operation
“Our culture has been built on service – to our people, customers and partners, and to receive this honor is evidence our employees are living out our culture beyond the walls of our offices,” said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano. “I am so proud of our teams – from our ops team at the ports to account managers and everyone in-between – who despite a tough market and headwinds have continued to go the extra mile deliver exceptional service.”
Trailer Bridge was founded in 1991 by industry pioneer Malcom Mclean, affectionately known as the ‘Father of Containerization’, to serve the Puerto Rican trade lane. The company operates regular barge service out of the Port of Jacksonville to/from the island handling containerized cargo, vehicles, over-sized equipment, temperature-sensitive freight and more.
In 2015 Mitch Luciano took the helm as CEO revitalizing the company culture and beginning a diversification of company services to serve today’s shipper. Today, the company is a full-service transportation provider with divisions handling domestic transportation, international shipping, government freight, intermodal transportation and warehousing needs.
