2022 Year in Review: Going for Growth

Despite the uncertainty surrounding lingering challenges from the pandemic in the world at large, 2022 proved to be an exceptional year for Trailer Bridge. The overwhelming theme was the pursuit of growth to become a leader in the logistics industry and a billion-dollar company by 2027, all to better serve our customers, partners, and employees.

Did our team rise to the challenge? You bet we did! In 2022, there were more people added to the team, more communities and families served, and more customers reached – giving us MORE reasons to celebrate than ever before. “2022 was an extraordinary year for Trailer Bridge. We opened 3 new branch locations, added 200+ new customers, increased our daily load volume by over 50%, and found time to have FUN along the way,” said President of Logistics, Eric Masotti.

Celebrating Our People

Trailer Bridge Employees in Jacksonville celebrate the promotion of Kyle Olsen to Kansas City Branch Manager.

To date in 2022, we’ve hired more than 125 people and celebrated reaching 300-plus employees nationwide.

There are no plans to slow down in 2023.

“With more than 100 new TB family members joining us in 2022 it has been an incredible year of bringing on those that truly want to make a difference and make it happen for our customers,” said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano. “This is just the beginning of what we will represent to the logistics industry and how we will change the experience everyone has in transportation.”

As part of our strategic growth initiatives, there have also been changes to our leadership team, including promoting executives that have been instrumental to company advancement and introducing new talent to support our future expansion.

Eric Masotti was named President of Logistics, overseeing the strategic direction of the company’s domestic transportation solutions including full truckload and less-than-truckload, drayage, intermodal and cross border services.

Indie B. Bollman was named Chief People Officer, responsible for the company’s organizational development strategy, including initiatives needed to reach a company headcount of 1,000 within five years.

New Faces in Leadership

Joseph Freitas was introduced as Trailer Bridge’s new Chief Financial Officer, bringing with him more than a decade of financial management experience in supply chain and logistics operations.

Chris Goss, our new Vice President of Government and Projects, has worked in the transportation and military industries for many years. His extensive knowledge in this segment of the market will be instrumental in the build out our government solutions division.

Brent Neary was named Director of Intermodal, a new leadership position key to expanding the company’s intermodal service offerings. He will also be overseeing operations at our new logistics branch in Dallas, TX.

TB Team Spirit & Partnerships

The new year brought with it new locations, new teams, and new partnerships for Trailer Bridge.

We continued to plant our roots across the country with three logistics branches opening in Kansas City, Denver, and Dallas. Denver and Dallas are both part of our efforts to expand service capabilities, with Denver focusing on less than load (LTL) and Dallas on intermodal.

In partnership with Mastery Logistics Systems, Trailer Bridge also celebrated the launch of MasterMind™, a cloud-based TMS created by industry pioneer Jeff Silver. This powerful technology, used in our logistics branches nationwide, supports company growth goals through increased visibility into the entire freight lifecycle and operational efficiency.

“2022 has been all about growth at TB by continuing to grow our family throughout North America and the Caribbean. In 2022 we have developed and grew new service offerings and solutions for our customers. Our goal is not just to meet our customer’s service expectations but exceed them,” said Jeff Vaughn, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer. Additionally, we introduced the Training and Development Team, aligning with the TB12 value “Pursue Growth and Learning” by providing employees support to succeed in their career, now and in the future. The team has already established several creative and engaging programs such as TB Talks, company book club, and a refreshed employee onboarding experience.

Heart of Service

Trailer Bridge and ATS present Habitat for Humanity Puerto Rico with a check for $100,000 after a successful.

At the core of our culture is a commitment to service – to our customers and employees but also the communities where we live and work. In 2022, we partnered with multiple organizations close to our hearts that share a passion for improving lives of local families, including:

Habitat for Humanity of Puerto Rico
Through hosting the annual Rally por Puerto Rico charity golf tournament with ATS International, we raised over $100,000 for housing projects around the island. We also participated in a rehabilitation project to ensure a local family could remain safe and comfortable in their home.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Along with our partners at Mastery Logistics Systems, Trailer Bridge sponsored St. Jude Dream Chicago, an event held to raise money in support of St. Jude’s mission to provide treatment for childhood cancer around the world.

Dreams come True of Jacksonville
Throughout the year, we participated in several events benefiting children with life threatening illnesses, including granting Michael’s wish to go to Disney World, Trunk or Treat and the Dreams Come True 5k.

Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare Inc.
This non-profit provides care for retired racehorses in Puerto Rico, allowing them to live out the rest of their lives out in comfort. To ensure they could continue their work, we contributed to the donation of a container of hay sent to the island after Hurricane Maria.

Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation
Through sponsorship of the organization’s Wine Tasting Gala, we supported their cause to support local families battling childhood cancer.

Three Grains of Rice Missions
We believe that no one should have to go without items needed to survive, so we happily provided the non-profit with donations of food for families in Northeast Florida and a container used to deliver much-needed medical supplies to Cuba and Ukraine.

Wrapping Up 2022

With such an eventful year, the expectations are high going into 2023. But we have the utmost confidence in our incredible team because the logistics experience we offer is different. We are a transportation company full of smart, driven people invested in making a big impact on those around them. We help families around the world by delivering the goods they need in their everyday lives – to thrive, heal, grow, innovate, and create. We use data, experience and know-how to make decisions that result in powerful outcomes for our customers.

Jacob Wegrzyn, Vice President of Caribbean, echoed these sentiments: “All of us at Trailer Bridge make the company.
