A career in logistics looks different for everyone; for some, it was a direct path and for others, like Justin Holmes it was a career evolution. Justin now serves as the Operations Manager for the Trailer Bridge Raleigh Branch after starting with the company in 2019 as a Logistics Sales and Ops representative.
Justin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Western Carolina University in 2014 and then began working in a lab environment. Part of his responsibilities included handling the labs shipments to and from other locations, his first introduction to logistics.
He transitioned his career into logistics in 2017 learning about the work that went into moving the shipments in and out of his lab. Since joining Trailer Bridge in 2019, Justin has found incredible success, earning an internal growth opportunity as well as being recognized as the 2021 President’s Award Winner for the company’s logistics division. He’s known for his caring personality, attention to detail and desire to learn and help those around him.
His story isn’t unique here at Trailer Bridge. Internal growth is something that is championed within the organization with numerous examples of others who have grown professionally since joining the company.
Trailer Bridge supports the growth of its employees with an internal upskilling program as well as a training and development team dedicated to creating and executing training programs for employees.
“Our people are our priority at Trailer Bridge. Investing in them is not only key to sustaining our growth, it’s also an important part of our culture of service and it’s the right thing to do,” said Indie B. Bollman, Vice President of Organizational Development at Trailer Bridge. “Our new Training and Development group is a big part of that, giving our team members the opportunity to, not only learn and grow in their current role, but prepare for the one they want next.”
