Domestic-TRBR 200-A | Item 504 – Section C-7 | Effective January 13, 2025

C. FREE TIME ALLOWED AT PUERTO RICO & US VIRGIN ISLANDS 

  1. Inbound or outbound Trailers will be allowed a Free Time period as follows: All Units will have seven (7) Calendar Days (Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays included).
  2. Goods not moving in Trailers (NIT), including Vehicles or Shipper Owned or Leased Equipment (SOL) will be allowed seven (7) Calendar Days Free Time (Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays included).
  3. Southbound / Northbound Loads or Northbound Empty Refrigerated equipment will be allowed a free time period as follows:  ALL UNITS…..5 calendar days.
  4. Whenever the same Trailer is unloaded and reloaded, each transaction will be treated as independent of each other.
  5. When shipments move under bond and/or require release through Customs/USDA, free time will commence once Customs/USDA releases the cargo in the port of Puerto Rico and US Virgins Islands.
  6. Free time will not commence, nor will demurrage be assessed on cargo delayed due to external factors outside the control of CARRIER and/or SHIPPER (such as, but not limited to, labor stoppages or weather conditions) which affect an entire terminal as long as the external factors continue.
